Allen Orr Projects About Work Together
About

Over the past 25 years I've worked across an extremely broad range of companies, industries, and disciplines—global brands and early-stage startups; technology and consumer products; books and digital products; hospitality, entertainment, healthcare, finance, sustainability, and fashion.

The industries change, the mediums change, the tools change—the underlying human problems repeat. Products get more complicated instead of more useful. Brands lose coherence as they grow. Teams hesitate to commit to a point of view. People mistake more features for more value.

The work changes. People don't, nearly as much.

Over time, experience becomes something more valuable than experience itself: pattern recognition—not of visual trends or technology, but of the human patterns that appear again and again regardless of industry. Those patterns become perspective. Perspective becomes discernment. Discernment becomes direction.

That is the work.
